Saturday
19 November the Jovenes del Tango organized an hommage to maestro
Osvaldo Pugliese! There was also an online survey with the question:
what is YOUR favorite pugliese song and WHY?
We have received many
reactions and we would like to thank all participants for their
contributions. The most popular song was by far "Desde el alma". The most special entries are listed here:
Desde el Alma short soundclip
"Fantastic waltz! Just fallen in love with each other. Tango in Sitges,
driving through the mountains in Spain, taking the hairpin curves on the
rythm of this waltz. Being on cloud nine; heavenly!!!!"
"Because the whole idea of the song comes from the soul, ís the soul and
certainly touching the soul. The lyrics are not on the Pugliese version, but
fit like a glove. First sad, then inspiring (music shifting to major!) and then
sad again (minor). Beautiful. Soul, they have hurt you so much, why do you hold
on to this pain? Why don't you move on? Why do you search for something you
wanted, something that died? Forget those letters! Come back to your old
dream, together with the pain that opens wounds, because then also life arrives,
bringing love."
La Mariposa short soundclip
"The translation of Mariposa is butterfly. In this song one follows the
flight of this beautiful creature which eventually turns into a dance of two
young lovers. The flight of the butterfly embodies their fragile romantic
journey, represented by a melody of happiness and hardship andt therefore it
is exceptionally well fitted for this dance of romance, which is better
known as the tango."
Contame una historia (sorry, is in Dutch)
"Ik krijg nog altijd kippenvel -en geregeld tranden in de ogen- als ik
Adrian Guida het hoor zingen (te vroeg overleden). De begeleiding van het
orkest is ongekend.
(geemotioneerd) publiek (Colon, BsAs, Carre, Amsterdam, Meervaart
Amsterdam). Pugliese. Is te emotioneel om op te dansen." |
